Terms and Conditions

Last updated October 1, 2026

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using DebtDraft. By using our GitHub Action or dashboard, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

DebtDraft (“DebtDraft,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a GitHub Action that scans pull requests for code health signals (complexity, test coverage, duplication, outdated dependencies, known vulnerabilities, and hardcoded secrets), posts a health-score comment on the pull request, and a hosted dashboard that displays the results and their trend over time.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service, and if you're using it on behalf of an organization, you're confirming you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Your Account

You sign in with GitHub. You're responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub account and any API keys you generate in the dashboard. If you believe an API key has been compromised, revoke it immediately in your dashboard settings.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to scan a repository you don't have the right to access or authorize scanning for
  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with the Service's security features or rate limits
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the hosted dashboard (the GitHub Action itself is separately licensed as open source once published, and that license governs its own use)
  • Use the Service to build a competing product by systematically extracting our scoring methodology through automated means
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of it

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate this section.

5. Your Content

“Your Content” means your repositories, code, and any data your GitHub Action run submits to our API. You retain all ownership rights to Your Content. By connecting a repository and running the Action, you grant us a limited license to process Your Content solely to provide the Service to you (running the scan, computing scores, storing and displaying results). We don't use Your Content to train any model, and we don't claim any ownership over your code.

6. Health Scores Are Informational, Not a Guarantee

DebtDraft's health scores, grades, and findings are automated, algorithmic assessments meant to help you spot code health trends. They are not a certification, a security audit, or a guarantee that your code is free of vulnerabilities, bugs, or defects. A clean score does not mean your code is safe, and a low score does not mean it's unsafe in every way that matters to you. Use DebtDraft as one signal among others, not a substitute for your own judgment, testing, or a professional security review.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, branding, and underlying software (excluding Your Content and, once published, the separately-licensed open-source GitHub Action), is owned by DebtDraft and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding.

8. Fees

DebtDraft offers a free plan and a paid Pro plan. If you subscribe to Pro, you agree to pay the subscription fee shown at checkout on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your selection). Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard's billing page; cancellation stops future renewals but doesn't refund the current billing period except as described in our Refund Policy. Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record, who handles billing, tax collection, and payment card data on our behalf; see our Privacy Policy for details. We may change our pricing, and will give you notice before a price change takes effect for your next renewal.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and disconnect your repositories in the dashboard. Terminating your account does not automatically cancel an active Pro subscription; cancel it separately from the dashboard's billing page or it will continue to renew and charge under Section 8. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) with reasonable notice where practical. What happens to your data after termination is governed by our Privacy Policy. Section 5 (data ownership), Section 6 (no guarantee), 8 (fees), 10 (disclaimer), 11 (liability), and 13 (governing law) survive termination.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Nothing in this section limits our liability for our own gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any liability that can't be excluded under applicable law.

11. Limitation of Liability

This limitation doesn't apply to liability arising from our gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold DebtDraft harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Pakistan. If you're a consumer resident in the European Union or another jurisdiction with mandatory local consumer-protection laws, this clause doesn't override those laws where they can't be waived by agreement.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We'll update the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes, we'll provide a more prominent notice.

15. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and DebtDraft regarding the Service. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
